Are you passionate about music and inspiring the next generation of vocalists? Suttons Bay Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and dynamic K-12 Vocal Music & Choir Teacher to bring the joy of music to our students for the start of the 2025-26 school year! In this role, you will create engaging and enriching music experiences for students across all grade levels while fostering a love for singing, performance, and musical expression. You will also collaborate with our drama, play, and musical teams to bring productions to life, providing students with incredible performance opportunities.

Qualifications:

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate in Music Education (JX or JQ endorsement for K-12).
• Strong communication, technology, and organizational skills.
• Experience in classroom instruction and student engagement.
• Ability to integrate technology into music education.

What You’ll Do:

• Teach vocal music and choir for grades K-12, using Suttons Bay’s curriculum.
• Create an engaging and inclusive classroom that fosters a love of music.
• Use innovative teaching strategies and assessments to guide student growth.
• Collaborate with the drama/musical team to direct student performances.
• Encourage students to explore their musical talents through performances and competitions.
• Stay current with best practices in music education and professional development.
• Maintain accurate records and use data to inform instruction.
• Work closely with students, staff, and families to create a positive learning environment.
